Please complete this application form and submit it to your Reception Manager, Front Office Manager or General Manager for their authorisation to participate in this competition. The person putting you forward must be a paid up member of the association.
Your completed application form and essay should be received no later than 16th October 2009.
The competition will run as follow:
First Stage
Your completed application form and essay will be reviewed by the AICR committee members.
All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by 02nd November 2009.
Essay topic:
How is the economic downturn effecting your hotel and what measures are being taken within the hotel to manage the impact of the recession? Please include what steps you and your team are taking to support this.

Second Stage
Those applicants that reach the next stage need to be available for an interview on either the 9th or 10th November 2009 at the Marriott Park Lane Hotel and must attend in full uniform.
Third Stage
All second stage candidates are required to be available on the afternoon of the 16th November 2009 at the Landmark Hotel for the announcement of the finalists.
Fourth Stage
The final interviews and role plays will be held on Monday the 30th November 2009 at the Royal Garden Hotel. All finalists should attend in uniform and be available throughout the day. The winner will be announced at a reception that evening.
The UK Receptionist of the Year 2009 will receive a hotel course at the world famous Ecole Hotelier in Lausanne, Switzerland. The winner is required to attend the International Competition to be held in Madrid, Spain from 14th to 17th January 2010. All travel arrangements for this will be paid for by the AICR.
